Announcements from the Steering Committee Meeting:
7th Tradition & Group Treasurer Report
Our Treasurer reports that our net income from 7th Tradition Donations for the month is ($1,880.13). We’re back in the green! Thank you for your generosity and support!
Our APRIL 2026 SVFG P&L Statement can be found here.
From the Board
Minutes from the MAY 17TH Board Meeting can be found here.
The Board had a $762 deficit last month due to the purchase of some pop-ups for the fundraiser. However, the fundraiser was a huge success and the Board would like to thank all volunteers and attendees.
Four members of our homeless population have caused numerous serious problems and the property manager no longer wants them on the premises. We received documents from the Sheriff’s Dept so that we can trespass these individuals.
The Board is in the process of investigating a separate account with membership funds earmarked for building funds. They are also taking action to start a coffee or snack bar to continue to build funds. A part-time club manager position will also be considered once the membership revenue hits a certain threshold.
Secretary Announcements
Our Registrar let us know that one of the Noon meetings was limited to one room due to 2 non-key members using the second room for stepwork. We do not allow activities outside of scheduled meetings at this time for exactly this reason. Also, the Registrar would like to reiterate that the keys are not transferable and cannot be lent out. It was also brought to our attention that a memorial was held at the Center without prior authorization. ALL outside events need to be cleared with the Board first.
The other recurring issue is the numerous attendees bringing dogs into meetings. ONLY TRAINED SERVICE ANIMALS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES, and this DOES NOT include “emotional support animals.” Bringing untrained companion animals that are not performing a vital service opens the Board up to liability and jeopardizes our lease. We count on meeting secretaries and other attendees to hold people accountable and we cannot allow any exceptions to this rule. We are legally allowed to ask the following questions: Is this a service animal? And what task are they trained to perform? If it is not a service animal, then it needs to leave the meeting. If the owner refuses to leave, then a disciplinary report should be filed so appropriate disciplinary action can be taken.
